In these neural disorders, two RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), TDP-43 (43 kDa TAR DNA-binding protein) and FUS (fused in sarcoma), have been reported as the common causative gene products, of which modulations lead to a gain of functional toxicity or a loss of normal protein function (3, 4, 5, 6). This evidence concerns the gene TARDBP and sarcoma.
