The increase of metabolic parameters, such as standardized uptake value (SUV), metabolic tumor volume (MTV), and tumor lesion glycolysis (TLG) based on [18F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET), was found to associate with a high PD-L1 level and TILs that express PD-1, CD8, CD163 (tumor-associated macrophages) and Foxp3 (Tregs) by IHC (101, 151, 152).
