In sex stratified analyses adjusting for maternal and neonatal characteristics, cord plasma FABP4 concentrations were higher in GDM vs. euglycemic pregnancies in males (27.0 ± 19.6 vs. 18.8 ± 9.61 ng/mL, P=0.045), but similar in females (23.2 ± 16.4 vs. 25.6 ± 21.2 ng/mL, P=0.60) (test for interaction, P=0.039) (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene FABP4 and gestational diabetes.
