Previous studies have found that serum DCN level is associated with preterm premature rupture of fetal membranes (Underhill et al., 2019), acute ischemic stroke (Xu et al., 2012), sepsis (Merline et al., 2011), and coronary artery disease (Nazemi et al., 2018), suggesting serum DCN level may be used as a biomarker in the diagnosis of various diseases. This evidence concerns the gene DCN and coronary artery disorder.
