BACE1-AS expression is increased in Alzheimer's disease. On the other hand, the autophagic activity also increases in the model of Alzheimer's disease. BACE1-AS indirectly reduces ATG5 expression by miR-214-3p. BACE1-AS silencing reduces neuronal damage and autophagy by affecting the miR-214-3p/ATG5 axis. This evidence concerns the gene BACE1 and Alzheimer disease.
