When assessing the distribution of cardiovascular risk factors in Hb quartiles (see Figure S1 for Hb ranges), significant differences in several characteristics, including anthropometric parameters, heart rate, serum lipids, glucose levels, insulin resistance, inflammatory factors, obesity-associated peptide hormones and liver parameters, between the study quartiles were observed at both time points while significant differences in bp and ABP were only observed at baseline (Table 1).
