Associations between the dietary indices and biomarkers were mainly limited to those who reported not regularly using statins: glucose, insulin, C-peptide, HOMA-IR, HOMA-β, and IGFBP1 for the insulin-related biomarkers; CRP, IL-6, adiponectin, leptin, E-selectin, and ICAM-1 for the inflammation/endothelial dysfunction biomarkers; HDL and TG/HDL ratio for lipids (Figure 7A; Supplementary Table 8). Here, LEP is linked to endothelial dysfunction.
