TPX2 is known as a cancer-related gene that is involved in the normal assembly of mitotic spindles and microtubules during apoptosis and is also associated with unfavorable prognosis in lung cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and renal cancer (Kadara et al., 2009; Asteriti et al., 2010; Neumayer et al., 2014). This evidence concerns the gene TPX2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
