We found that among 1082 patients in the Breast Invasive Carcinoma PanCancer Atlas database, 85 patients expressed low (<−1.29 standard deviation from the mean of all samples) levels of BRCA1 and 148 patients expressed high (>1.05 standard deviation from the mean of all samples) levels of BRCA1.These groups had significantly different (p-value < 0.05) overall survival, with low expression predicting better prognosis (Figure 1). The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is invasive breast carcinoma.
