As the TNFSF10 system has an orchestrating role in immune/inflammatory response during neuroinflammatory processes related to neurodegeneration [25, 28], we found a constitutively increased expression of the microglia marker Iba-1, as well as of the microglia-released cytokine TNF-α in the retina of 3xTg-AD mice. Here, TNFSF10 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
