PRL and breast cancer: In general, the mean score of breastfeeding knowledge was 10.07±2.38 points out of 22 (range from 6 to15), representing 45.8% of the total score.Table 1 shows that midwifery students in this study had good knowledge about breastfeeding benefits and some basics of lactation physiology; for example,88.89% knew that women who breastfeed had a lower incidence of premenopausal breast cancer and that breastfed babies had fewer ear infections.A majority (73.61%) knew that high prolactin levels were necessary to initiate lactation.
