According to the Western blotting bands (Figure 5(a)), the protein levels of PI3K and Akt in NPC cells were remarkably higher in the overexpression group (∗p < 0.05, ∗p < 0.05), while they were notably lower in the siRNA group (#p < 0.05, #p < 0.05) than those in the control group (Figure 5(b)), suggesting that siRNA S100A8/S100A9 can repress the protein levels of PI3K and Akt in the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Here, S100A8 is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
