D-Pen has the ability to remove Cu in vivo and the combination of D-pen and Cu could lead to cell death in endothelial cells and lymphocytes possibly as a result of ROS production and LOX and ICAM inhibition, eventually suppressing tumour growth and vascularization (Lipsky and Ziff, 1978; Starkebaum and Root, 1985; Brem et al., 1990; Gupte and Mumper, 2007). The gene discussed is LOX; the disease is neoplasm.
