Desamero et al. [16] highlighted that the propolis of the species T. biroi arrests the cell cycle of gastric cancer cell lines in the G0/G1 phase through the positive modulation of the expression levels of genes encoding cell cycle inhibitor proteins, such as CDKN1A (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 1A) and CDKN1B (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor 1B) and a tumor suppression gene (TP53). Here, CDKN1B is linked to gastric cancer.
