Finally, for the severe patients, the resulting pathways from the GSEA using the TFs obtained by DoROthEA as input pointed that the DCs are implicated in four biological functions: 1) Inflammatory processes (RANKL/RANK signaling, AGE-RAGE signaling, NOD-like receptor pathway, C-type receptor pathway, Senescence Secretory Phenotype, and Il-17 pathway), 2) Differentiation and maturation (PDGF pathway, IL-4, and Th17 cell differentiation), 3) Response to viral infection (Herpes and Hepatitis B), and 4) homeostasis (cell cycle and TGFß pathway). This evidence concerns the gene TNFSF11 and viral infectious disease.
