The elevated expressions of key rate-limiting FAO-related enzymes, such as fatty acyl-CoA synthetase, CPT1, carnitine palmitoyltransferase 2 (CPT2), are essential for the upregulation of FAO (Ma et al., 2018), which may herald a poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia and ovarian cancer (Shao et al., 2016; Shi et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene CPT2 and ovarian carcinoma.
