Consequently, in this study we aimed to widen our still limited knowledge of the epigenetic mechanisms underlying the regulation of SSTR5 expression in NETs, specifically somatotropinomas and PanNETs, and to explore the functional and pathological implications of those epigenetic underpinnings in tumor behavior to better understand the role of this receptor. The gene discussed is SSTR5; the disease is growth hormone-producing pituitary gland neoplasm.
