More importantly and in line with our data, CCL2 seems to be mostly overexpressed in perivascular astrocytes and positively correlates with the number of infiltrated T cells in the area, as described in the inflamed parenchyma of human glioma (Carrillo-de Sauvage et al. 2012), in animal models of traumatic brain injury as well as in biopsies of patients affected by MS (Glabinski et al. 1996; Van Der Voorn et al. 1999; Mahad and Ransohoff 2003). The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
