According to our previous study, the proportion of ALK gene mutation in surgically resectable lung adenocarcinoma (EML4‐ALK fusion and other ALK rearrangements) is 1.8%,6 a result consistent with the outcomes of other studies showing that ALK gene mutation accounts for 1.3%–7.9%6, 9 of patients with lung adenocarcinoma, depending on the population and methods of detection. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
