CD36 and metabolic disease: Nielsen and colleagues demonstrated elevation of CD36+ and FATP4+ skeletal muscle-derived EVs in serum after 60 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (70% VO2max) in both healthy (n=14; CD36+, 52%, P=0.019) and patients with metabolic disease (n=13; CD36+, 55%, P=0.016; FATP4+, 53%, P=0.007) compared to at rest (46).
