CACNA1A and autism: It is worth noting that increased CV has been reported in other animal models of autism with cerebellar dysfunction including CACNA1A (Damaj et al., 2015; Jayabal et al., 2016), CAMK2B (van Woerden et al., 2009; Küry et al., 2017), and KCNMA1 (Laumonnier et al., 2006; Chen et al., 2010), the last two being also associated with a reduced CS firing frequency.
