Oboh et al. [35] used two Lycopersicon esculentum varieties extracts as AChE and BChE inhibitors for the dietary treatment of ‘Alzheimer’s disease, where some carotenoids such as lutein, neoxanthin, violaxanthin, and betacarotene, among others were reported to be very abundant in these plant extracts. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and Alzheimer disease.
