Circulating CD14+HLA-DRneg/low monocytes secrete high levels of TNFα, IL-6, and IL-1β which promote proinflammatory immune responses; in the expansion of this monocyte population after myocardial infarction correlates with both cardiac damage and physiological function(Fraccarollo et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and myocardial infarction.
