DYRK1A and epilepsy: Taking advantage of a conditional allele for Dyrk1a inactivation, we were able to associate Dyrk1a gene dosage changes in glutamatergic neurons to specific cognitive phenotypes and molecular modifications and demonstrated a major impact of Dyrk1a dose change at the glutamatergic synapse on long-term explicit memory while no impact was observed for motor activity, short-term working memory and susceptibility to epilepsy.
