ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma: In the PROFILE 1014 trial, treatment with crizotinib was associated with longer progression-free survival (PFS) (10.9 months versus 7.0 months P<0.001) and improved response rates (74% versus 45%, P<0.001) among treatment-naïve patients diagnosed with ALK-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) compared with patients who had received chemotherapy (Solomon et al., 2014).
