TMEM38B and osteogenesis imperfecta: The TMEM38B KO hFOBs represent the first immortalized human osteoblast model for OI type XIV and they will represent a unique tool to address the still open questions on OI disease pathophysiology: how calcium flux impairment is affecting collagen synthesis and structure; which calcium dependent signaling pathways are mostly affecting osteoblast differentiation and activity; is calcium necessary for proper collagen and/or other relevant bone proteins secretion?
