Even though the mRNA expression of receptors for inflammatory cytokines, NF-kB, GR, and 11β-HSD1 were unaltered in Sol and EDL muscles of rats fed a HF diet, we cannot discard the possibility that elevated circulating TNF-α, IL-6, and corticosterone may have also contributed to some extent to the development of insulin resistance in these muscles. The gene discussed is NR3C1; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
