NR4A1 and neoplasm: It does, however, seem that risk of breast cancer among drinkers might be specific to hormone receptor status; the WCRF meta-analysis of postmenopausal women observed an excess risk of oestrogen-receptor-positive and progesterone receptor-positive (ER+PR+) tumours (RR 1.06 (95% CI 1.03–1.09)) and ER+PR– tumours (RR 1.12 (95% CI 1.01–1.24)) per 10 g alcohol per day, and no significant association was observed for ER–PR– tumours (RR 1.02 95% CI 0.98–1.06) [7].
