A systemic review and meta-analysis found conflicting results for colorectal cancer; one study [8] showed that BRCA1 increases cancer risk (odds ratio (OR): 1.49, confidence interval (CI): 1.20–1.86) and another study [9] showed that BRCA1 and BRCA2 do not increase cancer risk. The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is colorectal cancer.
