VCP expression was analyzed in patients with gastric cancer using immunohistochemistry, and 71.3% of the samples showing higher VCP expression were accompanied by a greater tumor size, the presence of vascular and lymphatic invasion and lymph node metastasis, and shorter overall and disease-free survival than those with lower VCP/p97 expression. This evidence concerns the gene VCP and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
