Notably, the EIF2AK2 gene, encoding eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 2, also known as interferon-induced double-stranded RNA-activated protein kinase, coincided with most of the pathways and might thus be critical for specific pathomechanisms of the obesity-associated asthma phenotype (Supplementary Figure S1C). This evidence concerns the gene EIF2AK2 and asthma.
