Due to the pivotal role of NCAM2 in synaptic structures and the mentioned interactions of NCAM2 with the cytoskeleton, the ablation of NCAM2 in synapses could lead to major changes in cytoskeleton structures, thus compromising synaptic viability in Alzheimer’s Disease [76,174,175,176,177]. The gene discussed is NCAM2; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
