Besides BC, male germline mutation carriers also have an increased lifetime risk for prostate cancer with a cumulative lifetime risk of 29% (95% CI = 17% to 45%) for BRCA1-mutation carriers and 60% (95% CI = 43–78%) for BRCA2-mutation carriers [11] compared to a lifetime risk of 16% of the general population [12,13]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and prostate cancer.
