SNCA and Parkinson disease: Aggregates of 129-phosphorylated α-synuclein in the neurofibers or the parenchyma of the submandibular gland were detected in 89% of iRBD patients, 67% of PD patients, and in 0% of controls [138]; in 44.4% of RBD patients, 46.3% of PD patients and 10.2% of controls in olfactory mucose [139]; and in skin biopsies of 86.7% iRBD patients and in no patient with narcolepsy type 1 [140].
