A 16 lysine (K16) residue-linked low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LDLR)-binding amino acid segment of apolipoprotein E (K16APoE) was used to deliver a therapeutic peptide (HAYED) into an Alzheimer’s disease mouse model brain leading to reduced necrosis. This evidence concerns the gene LDLR and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
