It is important to mention that the present study is the first time that the levels of expression of the ACACA and ELOVL2 genes have been analyzed in clinical samples of pediatric gliomas, and a relationship was also found between the level of overexpression and the CNS WHO grade of the glioma, indicating that these genes could also be useful biomarkers in the diagnosis and progression of gliomas. The gene discussed is ELOVL2; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
