NFKB1 and lip and oral cavity carcinoma: Oral inflammation may also have a role in the pathophysiology of oral cancers due to the involvement of several inflammatory pathways, such as cyclooxygenase (COX)-2, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K/Akt), mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK), nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) [4].
