Sandfeld-Paulsen et al. developed an EV array containing 49 antibodies that could trap and diagnose exosomes in plasma, and discovered that CD151/tetraspanin-24, CD171/L1CAM and tetraspanin-8 were the most important molecules able to distinguish patients with histological lung cancers from cancer-free individuals [65]. The gene discussed is L1CAM; the disease is lung carcinoma.
