Mutations of the ATM gene can explain ataxia telangiectasia (AT), a rare neurodegenerative disease, which is manifested clinically by skin and ocular telangiectasia, immunological deficiency, neuronal deficiency, sino-pulmonary infections, cellular sensitivity to ionizing radiation, and predisposition to cancer [158,159,160,161,162,163,164]. Here, ATM is linked to ataxia telangiectasia.
