Current therapies for metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) involve several active drugs administered either as monotherapy or in combination, including cytotoxic agents such as fluoropyrimidines, irinotecan or oxaliplatin, and targeted therapies against epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) or vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [3,4]. Here, VEGFA is linked to metastatic colorectal cancer.
