It has been reported that abnormal tangling and increased aggregation of α-synuclein are strongly associated with dopaminergic neuron damage in the substantia nigra (SN) of patients with Parkinson’s disease [2,3,4], and therefore, the spread and elimination of α-synuclein have become hot topics in neuroscience [5,6]. The gene discussed is SNCA; the disease is Parkinson disease.
