Overall, according to IPA functional analysis, a bioinformatics tool based on specific algorithms and integrated databases mainly focused on biomedical literature, the molecular changes related to ischemia (SC, SE, SF vs. SH) represented a potential activation of vasculogenesis and angiogenesis (ANXA1, CD34, MMP9, S100A4), together with an increase of cell movement and migration, and inhibition of apoptosis/necrosis (Table 1 and Figure 3B). The gene discussed is S100A4; the disease is ischemia.
