Comparable to Myrcludex B, which reduced the serum HBV load by more than 1.0 log10 in two out of eight HBe-negative patients with HBV/HDV coinfection after 24 weeks (average reduction 0.29 log10) [22], hzVSF monotreatment of WHe-positive woodchucks produced a modest albeit significant average decline of 0.90 log10 in WHV DNA level after 12 weeks at the highest dose. The gene discussed is HBE1; the disease is coinfection.
