POMC and functioning gonadotropic adenoma: Although it can distinguish the difference between NF-PitNETs and control pituitary tissues, NF-PitNETs with positive immunostaining for ACTH and FSH were rare [88,89], and could be gonadotroph adenoma, silent corticotroph adenoma, or plurihormonal adenoma [90]; thus, in future studies with the expanded sample size, it is necessary to separate the different subtypes of NF-PitNET samples for more accurate discrimination of the differences in calnexin.
