Because CLDN1 and CLDN7 are inversely involved in CRC progression, EMT, and metastasis, we identified a claudin-associated molecular signature of differentially expressed genes correlating with high CLDN1 and low CLDN7 expression from the transcriptome analysis of the above dataset using a regression model in the Bioconductor LIMMA package (FDR 0.0001 as the threshold). Here, CLDN7 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
