Deep‐scale discovery phosphoproteomic analysis of ALK fusion‐driven patient‐derived lung adenocarcinoma tumors (Gillette et al, 2020) also displayed elevated phosphorylation of PTPN11 Y542 and Y580 (Fig 2C; note that these correspond to Y546 and 584 in the alternative splice isoform of PTPN11), both of which have been implicated in its activation (Bennett et al, 1994; Lu et al, 2001). This evidence concerns the gene PTPN11 and lung adenocarcinoma.
