TGF-β2 is increased in late stages of liver fibrosis associated to hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in patients (Sancho et al., 2012), is accumulated in the bile ducts in human fibrotic liver disease (Milani et al., 1991), and is elevated in the aqueous humor of patients with glaucoma (Wordinger et al., 2014). The gene discussed is TGFB2; the disease is glaucoma.
