In terms of cell growth and death, Cav-1 knockdown also partly abrogated both the growth inhibitory effect and the apoptosis induction effect of ursolic acid in breast cancer cells (Supplementary Figures 7, 8). Altogether, ursolic acid impairs the glycolytic activity of breast cancer cells by activating Cav-1 signaling. The gene discussed is CAV1; the disease is breast cancer.
