FHL1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: Zhong, S. et al. analyzed hsa-miR-664a-3p and FHL1 mRNA expressions both in lung tissues from smokers with COPD and normal smokers from the GEO dataset GSE38974 and PBMCs from smokers with COPD and normal smokers, and found that the expression trends of hsa-miR-664a-3p and FHL1 in PBMCs from smokers with COPD were both consistent with those in lung tissues of smokers with COPD from the GEO dataset GSE38974, which demonstrating that the axis of hsa-miR-664a-3p and FHL1 might play a key role in CS-induced COPD (Zhong et al., 2019).
