Since the G protein-coupled receptor family consists of more than 800 members [88], it is likely that in the years to come many additional activities of PT will be uncovered, potentially leading to novel therapeutic applications, such as for the treatment of HER2-driven breast cancer for which PT has recently been shown to inhibit breast cancer cell proliferation and migration in vitro, as well as metastasis in vivo in a mouse model [89].
